Jude had alot of practice with his Spiderman fishing pole, so when the time came for the real deal, he was READY and knew just what to do.
Reeling in the fish is hard work:)
Pulling it onto the bank.......
Getting a grip on the slippery thing......
And smile for the camera! I think the fish is smiling, too -

Updates in the stairwell
I promised myself that the portraits in the stairwell would always be current. Check out the fresh ones, hung with care -
Jude, telling a tall tale
Brady, the detail boy, paying close attenntion
Ada, always happy, no matter what!
And Drew, so expressive. One day soon he'll tell us what he's thinking -

Happy Birthday, Aunt Ginny!
Little Drew Taylor's name wasn't simply pulled from the hat. He was named for my mother's side of the family, the Taylors. To seal the deal, he was born on the birthday of the family's matriarch, Virginia Taylor.
Here is a picture taken yesterday at a birthday luncheon in honor of her 92nd birthday. Isn't she beautiful? I've always claimed that Aunt Ginny was the reason certain words were invented: Fabulous. Charming. Positive. Generous. There aren't that many real LADIES out there in the world anymore, but Aunt Ginny is one. Always perfectly dressed, coifed, and jeweled. Shoes always match the handbag which matches the outfit which matches the event. Because she is so darn much fun, her social calendar remains full and active. All the cousins feel quite protective of Aunt Ginny since she is the only mother we have left.
Aunt Ginny was my mother's girlhood friend and then she married mom's brother. This took their friendship to a new level as sisters in law. They were exactly the same age, born only 9 days apart. Often they celebrated their birthdays together. We missed you yesterday, mom!
The luncheon was at the home of her best friend, Arlene. The table looked so nice, I had to snap it.
Did I mention Aunt Ginny's silly streak? She loves to laugh and will do anything to hear the laughter of others
Isn't this a gorgeous arrangement? The blooms were ENORMOUS
It was a lovely afternoon, a beautiful luncheon, and Aunt Ginny choked on her words when she thanked us for coming. Her love for others is so apparent and she is often overwhelmed with emotion. It's the sweetest thing.

Happy Birthday Drew Taylor
Such a trite thing to say that the time has gone by so fast, but it's TRUE. It's been one short year since little Drew Taylor labored his way into the family and he has been a solid presence ever since.
Hey, Drew, this is your big brother, Brady

July 2011 - Drew has taken charge of the domino game with his cousins
Drew has shocking red hair and a spirit to match. He's a happy little boy, walking now, and delighted to be upright and part of the action. He's very snuggly, and of course, I melt time after time. One day recently he fell asleep in my arms and I was paralyzed by his sweet face and couldn't put him to bed. So there we sat. I wondered what he would be like when he grows up. I wondered if he might be my last g-baby. I played with a stray curl that poked out from the back of his head and puddled up with the thought that he may have inherited that curl from me. I kissed his little nose and caved into the joy of it all.
Happy Birthday, Drew, you're a real boy now!

Grammy camp-out
Ben decided he should have a camping practice run in the yard with a safe haven nearby in case the mission failed. It was a raging success!
Ben, Ada and Jude doing a little stump-sitting while discussing the joys and hazzards of a campfire.
Ada with her hotdog stick
A very patient Jude preparing his dinner
Our good friend, Amy, and little Sadie came to the party!
And the Wolverton family joined the evening fun
Happy, proud and excited!
The next day. The little camper stayed up too late and then the sun hit the tent in the morning at 0 dark:30
Jen brought Brady and Drew the next morning and this accidental (rare) picture was snapped. All four wee ones in a single photo frame is a first:)
And I'll leave you with this PICTURE OF THE WEEK, little Drew Taylor. I think he's trying to tell us about his upcoming first birthday party -
